REDHILL will have one of the most exciting strike forces in the Ryman League next season but one player who will not be banging in the goals for the Lobsters is Richmond Kissi.

The controversial striker was Redhill's top-scorer last season before picking up red cards on consecutive Saturdays and then earning an additional suspension for comments made on Twitter about match officials.

Redhill stood by Kissi during the extended ban but the striker failed to regain his early-season form as the Kiln Brow team narrowly avoided relegation from Division One South thanks to a reprieve.

Lobsters boss Mike Maher said the striker's departure was a "mutual decision" and feels the fresh start will serve the former Sevenoaks Town player well.

"Richmond is a good player and a fresh start will be good for him because his reputation as a Redhill player has been tarnished," Maher said. "Richmond was brilliant at the start of the season for us and when he got his first suspension that really ripped the heart out of the team.

"When he came back it wasn't the same. Referees knew about him and things that might not have earned him a booking before were getting him cards."

However, the Reds have retained the services of prolific scorer Marcus Elliott and experienced forward Gavin Gordon, while adding the much-travelled Chamal Fenelon as competition.

"We have three hungry players there who are all in great shape," Maher said. "Chamal is in the best shape I've ever seen him in and he can't wait to get started.

"By his own admission he has grown up after a year out of football, and he knows he is going to best enjoy his football if he is playing regularly.

"We have also signed Chris O'Flaherty from Worthing, who scored 15 goals in the Ryman South last season. He predominately plays wide left and is a natural left-footer which is great to have in the side, but he can play up front as well."

Maher has also added Glen Woodburn, Scott Harris, and Tom Bold to his new-look side, but the Reds also have tough competition for the number one shirt with former England Schoolboys international Tom Betts and Adam Faith, who was second choice at Kingstonian last season, providing competition for Andy Greaves.

"By the end of last season we had one keeper between the first and reserve teams," Maher lamented. "It's great to have competition for places and at the moment I don't know who will be the number one."
