TRIBUTES have been left in Banstead Road following a collision in which a 29-year-old woman and her 11-year-old son died.
Flowers, cards and soft toys have all been left at the side of the road following the incident, which also injured six other people, one of whom is in a life-threatening condition. They have been taken to different hospitals in London.
The two-car collision took place at around 10.30am on Saturday and involved a Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta.
One of the cards left at the road-side says: "RIP Kia & mum. Thinking of you at this difficult time. All our love. Tommy Caroline."
South East Coast Ambulance Service sent seven ambulances, one paramedic officer and all three of its air ambulances to the scene. Surrey Police and Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance also attended, while London's Air Ambulance sent an advanced trauma doctor and paramedic by air.
The road, between Banstead and Ewell, was closed in both directions between Cheam Road and Fir Tree Road for most of the afternoon.
