FIREFIGHTERS in Surrey will continue to hold a series of strike action this week in the on-going dispute over changes to pensions.
Crews across the county are expected to strike for two hours twice a day between 6-8am and 5-7pm today (TUE), tomorrow and Thursday.
Further strikes will take place on Friday between 6-8am and from 11pm to 1am, on Saturday 19 July between 11am-1pm and 11pm-1am, on Sunday from 5-7pm and on Monday 21 between 6am-8am and 5-7pm.
Surrey County Council says non-striking firefighters will give emergency cover and will be backed up by the council's contract with private company Specialist Group International, which has crews that have completed the 17-week firefighters' training course.
