POLICE officers and Reigate and Banstead Borough Council sprung into action when travellers arrived at Kingswood Recreation Ground.
Five caravans, a motor home and towing vehicles appeared on the Buckland Road site at about 6.30pm on Tuesday.
Robin Davis, the borough council's parking parks and countryside manager, said: "I attended the site along with the police. Local councillors were also in attendance.
"The police agreed to use their Section 61 powers to issue an eviction notice on the group, with a condition to leave by 10am Wednesday morning.
"The police attended the site at 10am on Wednesday and the travellers left between 10am and 12pm."
