GOLF: Reigate Heath Golf Club are hoping to introduce more women and children to the sport with the help of two new PGA assistants, Leah Roelich and Lewis Parker.
Reigate Heath pride themselves on being a family-oriented golf club and head PGA professional Clifford Gough has been working alongside the new assistants to take this forward.
"With the modern emphasis on keeping active and fit, and the need to do things together as a family, golf's the ideal way to achieve this kind of lifestyle," Gough said. "As a nine hole course and a clubhouse with the best views in Surrey, Reigate Heath is ideal for this, along with its heritage of putting women on equal terms with the men, and being very family-oriented."
Roelich will be focusing on the women's section of the club, including the new Ladies Academy with free taster sessions, while Parker will be working with the club's juniors.
As well as competing in the regional and local PGA events, Parker's main involvement at Reigate Heath is helping the development of coaching for local school children and the junior section.
"With Leah and Lewis on board, we intend to make sure that Reigate Heath is the place where families, beginners and ladies know they're welcome and can feel at home," Gough added.
