MOLE Valley's MP showed his support for local farmers by joining them for their Christmas celebrations. Sir Paul Beresford visited the Dorking branch of the National Farmers' Union (NFU) for its annual party at the Abinger Hatch pub.
Sir Paul said: "Not only am I a member of the NFU, but a supporter of the local branch.
"Seldom seen, they are a considerable source towards the local community.
"These farmers and their families are an important part of our community and are vital to maintaining the unique landscape we have here in Mole Valley."
Branch chairman Hugh Broom said: "We were delighted to have Sir Paul attend our Christmas meeting. As with any type of business there is always policy change afoot and it is great that we have a Member of Parliament who understands the needs and challenges that we face on a daily basis farming here in Mole Valley."
A raffle was also held and raised £110 for Surrey Search and Rescue during the party on December 14.
