SURREY Police is re-examining a case after a Guildford woman was found dead after testifying against her childhood abusers.
Frances Andrade, 47, died less than a week after giving evidence against her former music tutor and his then wife at Manchester Crown Court.
Michael Brewer, 68, and Hilary Brewer, 67 were convicted of sexually abusing Mrs Andrade when she was 14 and 15.
The mother of four was abused when she was a pupil at Chetham's School of Music in the 1970s.
Surrey Police said it initially contacted Mrs Andrade to ascertain her wishes in relation to a prosecution.
A statement issued by the force said: "It is Surrey Police's policy to encourage victims to seek appropriate support.
"The death of Frances Andrade is extremely saddening and as one of a number of agencies who had contact with her we will review our involvement in her case."
