KIND-HEARTED pupils from St John's School in Leatherhead donned Marigold gloves for two days to support a thorough clean of a homeless centre.

Several students visited Pitstop, a day centre for homeless, unemployed and socially isolated people based in Fetcham Grove, Leatherhead last Thursday.

Sally Hunt, spokeswoman for the school, said: "A lot of rubbish was cleared and one very dirty kitchen was transformed.

"Impressed by the complete change the pupils helped to bring about, the Health and Safety Department has awarded the centre the top rating of five stars."

Executive producer for the programme, Eve Kay, said: "The pupils from St John's worked really hard to help out with the clean-up. We are grateful for all their hard work."

Students who helped included George Long, Justin Cooper, Ollie King and Craig Bonner.

Ross Unwin, John Clark, Peter Henley, James Long also took part in the clean.

As did Poppy Van der Vorm, Gabi Watts, Laura Fitzgerald, Carolina Makowska and Yuri Mohylnytsky-Ingham.
