TWO Essex men have been charged by police after a man was attacked at a football match in Walton.
William Rees, 45, of Beraing Way, Chigwell, and Garry Gordon, 47, of Huntsman Road, Hainault, are accused of common assault.
The victim, a man aged in his 30s and from Walton, was taken to hospital with a head injury after an attack by the main gate of the Walton stadium on Stompond Lane at 5.40pm on September 29. It followed Walton and Hersham FC's match with Brentwood.
Both men have both been released on bail to appear at North Surrey Magistrates Court on December 4.
