THE High Street bank which misspelled Ashtead on a giant poster advertising its new branch has created a new ad in double-quick time to make up for the gaffe.
As reported on Thursday morning, TSB attempted to flag up the rebranding of the village's Lloyds Bank branch with a billboard poster at the railway station which proclaimed: 'Hello Ashstead'.
Commuters were left playing spot the difference as the ad was placed directly beside the correctly spelled Ashtead platform sign.
On Thursday evening, Twitter users reported that the offending poster had been swiftly removed.
Meanwhile, the bank was sending out a newly designed - and properly spelled - advertisement via the social network which read simply 'Sorry Ashtead'.
