Leatherhead boss Brady: I've not had a better squad than I have now

RICHARD BRADY says he has never had a better squad at Leatherhead than the one he has now.

The Tanners boss is enjoying life at Fetcham Grove at the moment, with his side sitting second in the Ryman League Division One South and through to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup following a 2-1 win against Carshalton Athletic on Saturday.

And Brady says the spirit within the camp is as good as he can remember as his side look to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

He said: "The expectations are great at the moment with people thinking we are going to win everything.

"We are just focused on putting in our best performance in every game and we can't be going into games in better spirits at the moment.

"The guys are really looking forward to training and every game we play and they are just buzzing at the moment."

But Brady says he know that can change with a few bad results, which he is keen to avoid as his side continue to push for promotion back to the Ryman League Premier Division.

He said: "I know we are bound to have a few results that don't go our way at some point, but we just want to keep on improving.

"I can say I have not had a better squad than the one we have got right now and this has been a project over a period of time to get to this.

"We can't stand still though and we have to look to keep improving.

"That is only going to happen if we keep winning and keep our performance levels high.

"That will help us to maintain the spirit that we have in the group at the moment and that is the aim."

Meanwhile, Brady says he is focused on continuing his side's unbeaten start to the league campaign, with Whitstable Town and Walton & Hersham both due to visit Fetcham Grove this week, before the second qualifying round tie at Hellenic League side Binfield.

He said: "We know that in the cup you can't take anything for granted and we will have to go to Binfield and do a professional job.

"We are feeling confident whoever we play at the moment and when you are winning, it only helps to breed that confidence.

"But we are not thinking about the cup at the moment. We are concentrating on the league and when the cup game comes around we will focus on that.

"Our focus now is solely on Whitstable and trying to get three points."
