THE Skull Cracker fugitive, Michael Wheatley, appeared in Redhill Magistrates' Court this morning.
Wheatley, 55, is accused of carrying out an armed robbery on the Chelsea Building Society, Sunbury-on-Thames, while on the run from jail.
He appeared charged with robbery, possession of a firearm or imitation firearm and being unlawfully at large and was remanded to appear at Guildford Crown Court on May 29.
Wheatley is alleged to have carried out the crime after escaping from Standford Hill open prison on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent.
He was arrested in Tower Hamlets, East London, at 2pm on Wednesday, hours after the alleged robbery.
