A REIGATE mum has organised a charity ball to improve her son's quality of life.
Louise Elliott's one-year-old son Isaac was born with periventricular leukomalacia brain damage, caused by a Strep B infection she had during labour.
This led to spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy, which impairs muscle co-ordination.
Miss Elliott, of South Park, says Isaac is in constant pain, which can be frustrating for him and makes family life difficult.
To improve Isaac's quality of life, Miss Elliott is fundraising through the Tree of Hope, a charity which will hold the money in a trust fund for use whenever Isaac needs something.
Miss Elliott said: "Then anything I do need to buy, whether it's equipment or therapy, I can call the Tree of Hope."
The Hope for Isaac charity ball – being held at Reigate Manor Hotel, Reigate Hill, on June 20 – will involve an auction, a three-course meal and a magician.
One of the objects being auctioned is a Chelsea Football Club T-shirt signed by Frank Lampard.
Miss Elliott said: "All the local companies have been fantastic and donated lots of prizes. It's been amazing."
The ball forms one part of a large fundraising campaign for Isaac, which also includes Miss Elliott taking part in a tandem skydive, and a charity car wash at The Beehive pub, in Reigate, on July 5.
The Hope for Isaac Charity ball starts at 6.30pm on June 20 and is £30 per ticket.
