MICHELIN Ginetta GT4 SuperCup front-runner Charlie Robertson returned to winning ways in fine style at Oulton Park International Circuit last weekend with his third and fourth victories of the season.

Taking his tally of podiums for the season to six, the Whyteleafe driver's wins in rounds ten and 11 mean he now has twice as many 2014 victories as any other driver.

His total haul of 71 points from the weekend also enabled him to leap back into the top two in the standings, leaving him a mere four points shy of the championship lead.

"Oulton isn't usually my strongest track, but to get two race wins is really amazing, I'm so happy with that," said the elated Investigo and Blackstar-supported racer.

"On Saturday we needed to find a little bit more pace in the car, so we made some changes overnight and they worked well.

"It's great to get the wins but just as important to score big championship points."

Dominating the rain-hit qualifying session on Saturday morning, the 17-year-old category rookie secured the round ten pole position by a margin of 0.8 seconds before claiming a lights-to-flag success.

Establishing an impressive lead over the first few laps, building an advantage of almost three seconds by the start of the fourth tour, Robertson looked to be in complete control, but during the second half of the race Carl Breeze closed in.

Unfazed, the HHC Motorsport driver continued to keep his rival at arm's length and took the flag 0.3 seconds clear – the top two almost 15 seconds clear of the rest.

With Saturday's victory also earning Robertson pole position for the live televised 11th round on Sunday afternoon, the Scottish teenager again made an excellent getaway and went on to win by more than four seconds from championship leader Andrew Watson.

Robertson maintained the lead from Breeze through the first corner and during the opening laps there was nothing to separate the pair, but then Breeze was handed a drive-through penalty for a false start.

Despite some light spots of rain towards the conclusion of the race, Robertson increased his lead to almost six seconds before taking the chequered flag on lap 12, some 4.2 seconds to the good.

Next is a visit to Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire – HHC Motorsport's 'home' track on June 28 and 29.
