Warlingham have announced that 26-year-old winger Jon Osborne has been elected first team captain for the upcoming season. For several seasons Osborne has been one of the first names on the team sheet and has been at the club for several years cementing his reputation as an elusive runner and dependable defender for the club. A former Caterham schoolboy and currently a sports coach at John Fisher school, Osborne takes on the mantle from Zack King, who remains vice-captain. Warlingham chairman Peter Wrightson, said:, "We are delighted that Ozzie has taken up the role, he is an inspirational player and holds the respect of all the other players." Osborne added: "This is a great honour for me to captain Warlingham and to follow in the footsteps of some great players. I know I can rely upon the support of all the players, especially the former captains, to hopefully achieve a successful season." Warlingham have resumed pre-season training at their Hamsey Green on Tuesday evenings at 7pm when all are welcome to attend. Head coach, Ben Stobart, has some new drills to put the players through their paces before the league season starts in September. For geographical reasons Warlingham have switched from London Two South East to London Two South West, bringing back a number of historic fixtures against well known opposition. Having narrowly avoided relegation last season they are keen to improve their standing in the difficult league.
