ORGANISERS say more than 1,000 people gathered together for Church in the Park on Sunday.
The open air service, organised by different churches across Reigate and Redhill, aimed to be friendly, informal and welcoming, with a simple message for people of all ages.
It was an opportunity for Christians across the area to come together and demonstrate their unity in Christ, while also being an opportunity for people who are not churchgoers to come and get a "taste" of church.
Visitors saw puppet sketches, singing from the Redhill Gospel Choir and engaging prayers.
The service was led by the Reverend Phil Andrew, vicar of the parish of Reigate, who said: "This was the fifth time we have run Church in the Park and the event has grown each year. It was great fun with something for everyone, a wonderful celebration of faith in our community, and hopefully might have dispelled a few stereotypes of what 'church' has to be like."
