SILVERWARE of "great sentimental value" has been stolen from Tandridge Golf Club.
Thieves broke into the Oxted club and forced open a wooden trophy cabinet between 11.45pm on Saturday, December 22 and 2am the next day.
Detective Constable Portia Andrews from Reigate CID said: "This incident is one of several involving golf clubs in Surrey and I would urge all clubs to remain vigilant and report any sightings of suspicious individuals or anything unusual to police immediately.
"I would like to ask metal dealers and members of the public to look out for the items and if you suspect someone of trying to sell on possible stolen goods to contact officers.
"The stolen items, some of which have been with the club for decades, are of great sentimental value to the club and its members and we will do all we can to reunite them with their property."
Police officers from the Tandridge Safer Neighbourhood Team have been carrying out enquiries in the area.
Bletchingley Golf Club has been targeted twice in recent years, with two golf buggies stolen and three damaged.
Anyone with information on the Tandridge Golf Club break-in is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference TD/12/5876.
